Financial Assistance for bright and talented girls
Bursaries
Help with the cost of fees
Alongside all of the GDST schools, we believe that our quality education should be accessible to bright and talented girls from all backgrounds, whatever their financial circumstances.
We offer a number of bursaries of up to 100% of the cost of the fees to provide financial assistance and exclusive opportunities to bright and talented girls who we know would thrive with an NGHS education.
Bursaries are offered for Year 7 and Year 12 entry. Due to exceptionally high demand, applications must be made by the end of November of the previous year you are applying for (ie November 2025, for September 2026 entry).
How to apply
Bursaries are awarded based on both academic ability and a family’s income and financial resources.
Step 1 – Complete NGHS application form
Please complete the application form to apply for a place at NGHS. This will generate your Admissions+ Student Homepage at which you can indicate that you wish to apply for a bursary.
Step 2 – Complete GDST bursary application process
When you’ve completed your application and indicated that you wish to apply for a bursary, you’ll be directed to the GDST Bursary application portal where you’ll be asked to declare your income and financial assets.
Step 3 – Assessing your financial eligibility
The GDST will assess your eligibility for a bursary, and let us know whether you qualify, confirming the maximum amount of financial assistance we can offer. This will usually be between 30% and 100%.
Step 4 – Academic assessment
Year 7: Your daughter will take part in the standard NGHS entrance assessment – including the entrance examination and references from her current schools. There are no additional assessments required for bursary places.
Year 12: Offers of bursaries will only be made after the release of GCSE results in August. If you are interested in a bursary, please contact the school before applying for a place.
Step 5 – Confirmation of award
Year 7: If you are eligible and your daughter has performed exceptionally well in our entrance assessment process, we will offer your daughter a bursary at the same time as offering your daughter a place at NGHS. At this point we will also confirm the level of financial assistance we will be able to offer you.
