Details and Application

A day or a session at our nursery is educational and fun from beginning to end. Here are some details about what to expect, and if there is anything else you need to know, please do just get in touch with Lesley Sail on 0115 935 4450

Timings of The Day

The Nursery day will mirror the current school day, opening from 8.00am until 4.00pm with both Before School Club from 7.30am and After School Club until 6.00pm available at an additional charge.

Individual session times will be 8.00am – 1.00pm for a morning session, including morning snacks and lunch. All-day sessions will run from 8.00 – 4.00pm.

During the morning session girls will be engaged in learning activities, including child-led play, to deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.

Exciting additional learning opportunities will take place in the afternoons, including Forest School, Languages, Food Technology, Music and Sport.

It is expected that girls will attend a minimum of one full day and two further morning sessions per week but full days are preferred. The 15 hours Free Entitlement Funding can be used to cover the morning sessions only.

Girls will wear the NGHS navy PE sweatshirt, sky blue polo shirt, navy jog pants or shorts, school coat and white trainers. They may also wear the NGHS summer dress in the Summer Term if they choose to. All of these items are available from Stevensons, our online school wear provider.

Meals and Snacks

We will provide a healthy snack, including milk and water during the morning session.

At 11.45am your daughter will enjoy a home- cooked nutritious hot lunch in our state of the art dining hall. We have a team of chefs who prepare a range of fresh meals every day, catering for a variety of dietary requirements. Your daughter will be encouraged to try new foods to broaden her repertoire and Nursery staff will eat with your daughter, encouraging sociable meal times and good table manners.

A snack will also be provided in the afternoon if your daughter is staying for After School Club beyond 4.00pm.

How to Join

We would be delighted to welcome your daughter as she turns three years old, and we would love
to welcome you for a tour of the Nursery, Infant and Junior School at any time. Girls are invited to attend a taster session before an application for a place is made. Upon application, we will arrange a further ‘stay and play’ session for your daughter. Our expert staff will also arrange a home visit with you. This is an excellent way to begin building a trusting relationship with your daughter, enabling us to find out as much about your daughter as we can to help her settle and flourish in our Nursery and for you to be able to ask us any questions that you may have.
