Another extraordinary Celebration of Music here at Nottingham Girls
On Monday 23 March 2026, we hosted a truly extraordinary celebration of music at our Senior School Concert, showcasing all of the exceptional musical talent across the Senior school.
Audiences were treated to performances of the highest calibre from the Symphony Orchestra, String Orchestra, Swing Band, String Quartets, Flutes, Single Reeds, Percussion Ensemble and the Senior and Chamber Choirs, each demonstrating remarkable skill, commitment and musicality. The evening was a fitting testament to the dedication of our students and to the central place that music holds within school life.
Alongside the outstanding performances, the concert also provided an opportunity to celebrate and pay tribute to our exceptional Year 13 cohort, who have been at the heart of music-making and musical excellence since beginning their journey with us back in Year 3. It was a particularly special moment to recognise all they have contributed over the years.
There was further cause for celebration as we marked the success of the Chamber Choir winning the GSA Senior Choir of the Year Award, a tremendous achievement of which the whole school community is immensely proud. Mrs Wharton-Howett also took the opportunity to wish our Tour Orchestra every success as they travel to Holland this weekend with Sheffield High School. Another Celebration of Music – we can’t wait to hear how they get on.
