The #NGHS Prefect Team are always supporting the NGHS community with their creativity and positivity.

Today, they’re sharing two Easter competitions to raise money for their chosen charity, the Rosie May Foundation. This children’s charity works hard to support families across the world, and aims to ensure every child in the world is safe and nurtured.

The whole school community is invited to take part, including girls, parents, staff and alumnae.

This is a great example of how the #NGHSWellbeing Series helps spread some ideas to support our community during these challenging times. Please enjoy these activities and let us know how you get on!

Competition 1 – Design the most fabulous Easter egg you can!

Draw, decorate or create an egg. Unleash your creative talents and design something, unique, beautiful or surprising. Doing something creative can be a great form of mindfulness. As you concentrate on your creation, you can take a well earned rest from any worries that are normally taking up headspace. It’s also a lovely way to use a different part of your brain than you might usually use. Seeing the fruits of your labours also brings a welcome sense of achievement and a great confidence boost.

We’ve got a feeling there are going to be some amazing entries for this knowing our girls’ fantastic creativity!

Competition 2 – The colourful photography competition.

Following the success of our annual #NGHS Biology photography competition, we’re sure this will be a popular challenge!

Take a colourful photograph – it’s as simple as that. It can be a photo of anything, as long as it’s colourful. It could be an image form your garden as the Spring blooms start to appear, something from your kitchen if you’re cooking up a treat with your spices and colourful ingredients, or one of the beautiful rainbows we see in families’ windows when we take our one trip out a day.

Photography give you a chance to slow down and focus on what we see. It enables us to notice the details that we might otherwise rush past. It’s a positive way to recharge and reframe.
