The Squire Performing Arts Centre, Nottingham Girls’ High School
Salary: in the region of £17,000-£19,000 – GDST Support Staff Grade 2
Full time/full year – average 36 hours per week
The role: We are looking to recruit an experienced theatre technician with a passion for the arts to join our growing team. Responsible to the Senior Technician, the post holder will be involved in all aspects of the technical operation, providing technical expertise and support to all users including the school, visiting companies and external hirers. The successful candidate must have good communication skills, an ability to engage with the whole school community and an affinity for working with young people.
This post will suit someone who is already working in the theatre or is a recent graduate in technical theatre.
The Space: The Squire Performing Arts Centre – ‘the space’ – was opened in Spring 2017 and provides a highly flexible, multi-use performance space for use in all areas of performing arts, including dance, music and theatre. With full technical facilities, backstage amenities, bar and foyer area, this unique venue had two distinct performance spaces: the main house is a 260 raked seated theatre, and the studio has retractable seating for 74. As well as providing an incredible resource for the school, ‘the space’ is used by a growing number of external hirers and performers and we are always looking for new and established production companies and promoters to perform at our theatre.
