Wow! On Tuesday 15 March, Years 3 to 9 were treated to an inspiring and uplifting concert performed by the Band of the British Army – 35 talented musicians who entertained us with a range of classical, contemporary, military and pop numbers.

This was an amazing chance for our girls to see a professional brass, percussion and woodwind ensemble; the sea of smiling faces, tapping feet and clapping hands was truly a sight to behold, with audience participation in ‘We don’t talk about Bruno’ from Encanto raising the roof and reminding us all how much we have missed such enrichment opportunities.

After the concert, Mr Rolfe stayed behind with some of our Year 6 musicians who then took part in a workshop with the band and other pupils chosen from the Senior School. They had the most incredible time and lots of questions to ask about the life and role of an army musician.  Playing their own instruments alongside the men and women in uniform was a very special experience for all concerned – well done, girls!
