We tried something a little different for this year’s alumnae reunion, we had afternoon tea instead of lunch!

On a lovely, warm and sunny Saturday afternoon, we welcomed over 50 of our alumnae and former staff back to school for our annual reunion event. This year we brought out our finest china and a selection of delicious sandwiches and cakes as we indulged in afternoon tea.

There were groups representing Classes from 1955 through to 2013! And the Class of 1973 had a particularly special afternoon as they celebrated 50 years since leaving school!

Our Head, Mrs Keller, welcomed the groups with an introduction and a chat about how we’re getting on as a school, our great success and the amazing things we’re doing. Everybody had a lovely time catching up and chatting about the ‘old’ days and some of the naughty things they used to get up to! There was archive material to look through which is always very popular. There’s something quite special about finding yourself in old photographs.

Our Head Girl and Prefect Team were on hand to take groups on tours around the school once they’d enjoyed their tea. Miss Abbott from the PE Department also came along and helped out – some of the alumnae had been taught by her many years ago!

It’s fair to say that they really enjoyed the afternoon and loved to see how the school had progressed academically AND structurally, particularly impressed by the amazing Performing Arts Centre and what a fantastic provison it is.

All in all it was a wonderful event with memories shared and new memories made. School days really are the best days of your life.
