Our girls have had a spectacular flurry of success recently and received an array of awards and prizes, particularly in STEM subject areas which is brilliant.

Yueh-Chia Lo in Year 13 was one of 26 out of 100 to be invited to attend the grand final of the Triumph Design Awards with her pneumatic adjustable dual piano seat design. Yueh-Chia did really well in getting to the finals and had a great time at the Triumph Headquarters in Hinckley, Leicestershire with the other finalists, including the obligatory motorcycle photo! We’re very proud that she came away with achievement awards for Outstanding Communication, Commercial Awareness and Visual Design. Well done Yueh-Chia!

Amy Xu also did really well in winning the Ogden Trust Nottinghamshire Year 12 Physicist of the Year award which she accepted at a ceremony at The University of Nottingham’s School of Physics and Astronomy. Amy has proven herself to be a keen and bright student – she even based her EPQ project around Physics, (time dilation) and has completed additional work and gained an award in the Isaac Physics challenge where she came in the top 15%. Amy is a true STEM ambassador and we’re very proud of her.

Elina Ganatra in Year 12 did incredibly well in scooping joint 2nd prize in the Biological Sciences category of the Newnham College annual essay competition. Newnham College’s annual essay prize competitions are designed to encourage ambitious female sixth-form students to explore university-level subjects and themes and to develop their independent research and writing skills. Well done Elina on this great achievement, especially as there were a record number of entries this year.
