On the last Wednesday of term, our Senior students were all off timetable and spent the day on a variety of ‘green’ projects.

Each year group had a different focus and worked together in their respective Houses to produce a variety of ways to promote and celebrate nature and sustainability.

Year 12 worked on upcycling to make soft furnishings for their common room.

Year 10 spent the day directing, filming and producing a short Eco Film Festival with Drama, or planting sculptures with Design Technology.

Year 9 were tasked with devising a ‘moving soundtrack’ of nature combining artwork, music and poetry rotating through Art, Music and English.

Year 8 worked on designing and making a ‘Green House’ for bugs and pollinators.

Year 7 rotated through ‘Maths in Nature’ sessions plus den building in Upnah Woods and tree-spotting in the Arboretum which adjoins the school.

It was a great way to conclude the school year and some excellent work was produced across all year groups.
