Our Year 13 girls celebrated the end of their school careers at NGHS with two wonderful occasions as they leave us before returning to embark on their A-Level examinations.

We held a lovely awards ceremony for the girls in our performing arts centre, ‘the space’, and it was a very special occasion. On this beautiful, warm and sunny evening, the girls were joined by family, friends and staff to reflect on their time at school, and to celebrate their achievements so far. There were cheers and applause as the girls crossed the stage to receive their prizes and good wishes from Dr Anita Bloor. alumna and School Governor. It was a heartwarming, proud and emotional event, as you can see from the photo gallery:

Then on their last day, the Year 13 girls partied in the usual NGHS style. Lining Arboretum Street dressed in outfits of this year’s theme – Children’s entertainment – the girls braved the rain and cold to commence water pistol battles with passers by and spectators. It was truly a colourful spectacle to behold as Mr Men (and Little Misses) raced about with Scooby-Doo, Postman Pat, Bob the Builder and a whole array of fun characters. The girls then paraded around the Junior School much to the amusement of the staff and girls there.

After all the fun and laughter, there followed the rather more emotional aspect of leaving school as the girls paid tribute to staff and one another in a final assembly at which they also watched the (now traditional) staff tribute video. Thank you all for your hard work girls, and good luck in your forthcoming exams. We have no doubt that you will make us proud – you are after all, extraordinary.
