While some enjoyed a relaxing summer break, others cycled from London to Paris for charity.

Our Head of Outdoor Learning, Miss Lynn, had an idea to cycle from London to Paris and raise money for charity as part of the process. Joined by eight girls, some of who were alumnae and others who had just received their A-Level results, and two other staff, Miss Lynn set off on the epic 300 mile journey over four days. This was a major achievement as the trip was a real hard slog in hot conditions, but after sunburn, punctures and some hardcore cycling, the team made it to Paris and the Eiffel Tower, which is amazing.

Motivated by stories of personal tragedies, the team raised over £2,000 for The Alzheimer’s Society and Macmillan Cancer. This was a truly selfless act, giving up their own holiday time to take part in a gruelling charity event is something very commendable and we are very proud of everybody who took part.

Miss Lynn would also like to extend her thanks to British Gypsum for sponsoring the event, and to the Hoodie Hut who provided the brilliant hoodies.
