NGHS friends Adaline and Ekbal left NGHS in 2019 and headed to university to study Medicine and Law respectively. That in itself is an admirable achievement, but on top of that, the pair set up their very own business and it’s doing very well indeed.

Together, these enterprising young women have created a small business and their first loungewear collection sold out in just 12 hours after its launch back in January 2021 – how amazing is that!

Both of them are also currently in their second year at university – Adaline is studying Medicine at Sheffield and Ekbal is studying Law with a Foundation Year at Birmingham. This makes their achievement even more remarkable.

Seeing a gap in the market, they launched their black-owned, female-led Instagram business called ‘REIGNSZN’  and it took off instantly. The pair are passionate about being environmentally conscious and ensuring that their customers can be involved in every step of the process. As women of colour, Adaline and Ekbal are incredibly determined to ensure their brand is diverse and representative, and are constantly looking for new ways to achieve this. You can find their clothing range on Instagram under @REIGNSZNOFFICIAL if you’d like to support them.

Our alumnae never cease to amaze us with their success stories and this makes them such great role models for our current pupils. And we’re proud to say that a GDST education at NGHS has helped them along the way, as Adaline says:

“The pressure of the school environment and growing up around such highly motivated people has left me with a drive that has always pushed me to go for what I want, regardless of the opinions of others. I and many others, left with the belief instilled into us that we could achieve pretty much anything we put our minds to and this has certainly been helpful in my life outside of NGHS.”
