The school would like to say a huge THANK YOU to parents and friends who raised money in order to buy a fantastic pizza oven for the outdoor learning area.

Upnah Wood is already a wonderful space for outdoor learning which is used by girls of all ages from EYFS through to Sixth Form, and was hugely admired by visitors at our recent Open Day. Our supportive parents know how much girls love to spend time outside, climbing, building dens and toasting marshmallows around the firepit, and they wanted to contribute something to make this area even more exciting. So we were really thrilled when they arranged a series of fundraising events and paid for a fantastic pizza oven.

The brick creation was built by Thomas & Sons Construction Ltd, two of whom came along during the week to enjoy pizza made by the Year 7 girls whose parents have been the main contributors.

Despite the rain, girls loved getting floury and creating their own pizzas and sliding them into the oven off the huge paddles, then tucking into them once they had cooked. This facility is a real treat and will enhance the outdoor learning experience, providing our girls with an opportunity to spend time outside doing activities other than just physical.

We are eternally grateful to our parents for their continuing support and hope that they will come and join us for pizza soon!
