We enjoyed a lovely start to the school year as we welcomed our new Year 12 students and their families to a special celebration event.
There was excited chatter and smiling faces in the Senior School Hall as we welcomed Year 12 and their guests to a specal celebration assembly to acknowledge their incredible successes and achievements from last year.
Proceedings started with a wonderful musical performance by Amy on the trumpet before an official welcome from Mrs Keller who warmly greeted everybody. There followed a welcome from Mrs Sommers who is the new Head of our Sixth Form, and an inspirational speech from Head Girl, Khushi.
Mrs Lewis then addressed the group to say “goodbye and thank you” as they had been under her care as Head of Upper School while they were in Year 11.
Then it was time to present a whole array of prizes and awards to students for their amazing GCSE results and other phenomenal individual achievements over the year. It was so lovely to see the proud faces and hear the applause as one student after another went up onto the stage to accept their awards.
We are so proud of every one of them and just know that they are going to have a great time in our Sixth Form with more success to come. It was also a lovely opportunity to welcome those who are new to the school as they settle in to Year 12 with us. Mingling with their new friends outside after the event, they already seemed right at home. It’s going to be a great year!
