Sixth Form Centre

Sixth Formers love the NGHS Sixth Form Centre. It’s a dedicated building with modern common room spaces, its own kitchen for the girls to make a cup of tea and a toastie, a small catering facility serving hot drinks and light bites, a beautiful garden and purpose built seminar rooms.

Varied and inspirational facilities

Sixth Formers also enjoy using the other state of art facilities of the school including the many Science Laboratories, Design and Technology studios, IT suites, the Performing Arts Centre and more. They also enjoy the vibrant colours of the Art Studios, with an Art Studio specifically for the Sixth Form, and the gentle hum of the Library. Our Lecture Theatre is a favourite space too, where girls enjoy lessons delivered in the style of a university lecture, and practice their own public speaking at the lectern.

Spaces to work and unwind

There’s always somewhere to read, with newspapers delivered to many parts of the school on a daily basis, and there are many places for our girls to study, whether that’s in a quiet study area or in a buzzing space designed to encourage collaborative working and discussion.

Careers Room

Our Careers Room is also a welcome space for our Sixth Formers. Led by our Head of Careers, we offer continual talks, seminars and workshops to help girls choose what they wish to do when they leave school, to help them get into the best universities and to mentor them through their higher education and careers. Being part of the GDST network, we also benefit from the incredible community of over 70,000 GDST alumnae who hand down the ladder to the next generation of female leaders through the Rungway app, mentoring, work placements, networking and guidance.
