State-of-the-art

Our Senior School is an inspiring place in which to learn and grow, with expert staff who are dedicated to teaching girls, and innovative facilities to provide them with everything they need to succeed.

Classrooms

We are proud to be a modern school dedicated to empowering young women for their exciting futures. As part of that, technology is part of everything we do. Our modern classrooms have interactive whiteboards and every girl in the Senior School is issued with her own iPad.

Studios, labs and workshops

For those hands-on lessons, our facilities are well-equipped and inspiring. Our Art Studios are big, bright and busy spaces displaying the creativity of our girls, and providing them with an environment to bring out the artist in every one of them.

Science laboratories are state-of-the-art, with top of the range equipment, similarly, Design Technology spaces have best in class technology. The Food Room, Graphics Room and Product Design Workshop are filled with digital and technological tools and equipment, ensuring our girls get a first rate experience. They learn how to use them safely and independently to produce the most amazing, eye-catching work.

Music and Drama

Performing arts are hugely popular among girls of all ages, and an important part of equipping girls for the future. They grow in confidence, learn how to present themselves in front of a crowd, build their creative thinking and push themselves out of their comfort zones – all fundamental skills to achieving extraordinary success in life. An exciting, dedicated Music House echoes with the sounds of playful rehearsals and clever composition, while our very own performing arts centre, The Space, offers absolutely everything you need to progress, on and off the stage. A fully functioning theatre complete with rehearsal spaces, technical box, orchestra pit and audience seating means our girls have bags of confidence and no fear of presenting themselves from the very start.

Academic Enrichment with The Space

As a professional theatre, The Space hosts many partnerships and collaborations with the wider the performing arts community in Nottinghamshire. As a result, NGHS pupils enjoy unique opportunities to enrich their academic learning with professional organisations and experts.  For example, the English curriculum is brought to life through live productions and poetry workshops. History is enhanced through immersive experiences around Historical texts and topics. Our extra-curricular programme is also jam packed with opportunities that are enhanced by life in The Space. Collaborations with Dance companies, Music ensembles and Arts Festivals bring expert teachers, performers and inspiring role models into school to work with our pupils.

The great outdoors

Every inch of available space at NGHS has been utilised to provide an excellent opportunity for learning and adventure. A once ordinary Sports Hall wall is now an exciting climbing wall to test the nerve of anybody who dares scale its heights. What was a basic patch of land is now a beautiful woodland with low ropes course, mud kitchen, pizza oven and firepit. Girls love to spend time here. It’s a unique type of classroom; a happy, healthy outdoor space where there are no limits to learning.
