Exciting spaces

Designed to deliver the best possible education to girls, all of our spaces are hugely inspiring, bringing out the best in every single girl.

Designed to inspire

Indoors, the corridors and classrooms are alive with colour and technology at our Infant and Junior School. Our girls are motivated and stimulated as soon as they set foot through the doors. All pupils harness the use of Apple technology, with one to one iPad devices, which they use to enhance their understanding and attainment.

Our Infant and Junior School has its own library packed with a growing collection of everybody’s favourite children’s books, and more. Visiting authors are a regular feature here and keep the girls enthralled and inspired with stories and songs.

The music room is always in use and full of joy as the girls learn, rehearse and play a variety of instruments from steel pans to ukuleles. They also compose pieces digitally using apps and Apple products such as GarageBand. They sing and record their performances too on the iPads they each use.

Girls at computer

Our IT suite is equipped with modern computers, which they use alongside their individual iPads, to ensure that even our youngest girls join the technological age.

We also share incredible spaces with the Senior School including the Food Technology Room, Art Studios and stunning performing arts centre, The Space, where girls can perform in a professional theatre to an auditorium of 250 seats from as early as 4 years old.

The NGHS School Library is loved by girls from Nursery right up to Sixth Form

We work really hard at NGHS to make sure there is a really diverse range of fiction and non-fiction for the students to read.

The great outdoors

Outside, our girls can learn to climb on our adventurous climbing wall and even have a go at archery in a safe and supervised way on the field. Our own woodland area, Upnah Wood, is the place for girls to explore nature and have adventures. What could be nicer than searching for mini-beasts, making pizza in the mud kitchen and baking it in the pizza oven before tucking in around the campfire.

Food for thought

Lunch at the state-of-the-art Dining Hall is something very special at NGHS. All food is homemade on site by a committed team of catering staff. Girls choose from a range of meals including two Halal and two non Halal dishes every week. There are vegetarian and meat options, with a choice of puddings and fresh fruit to follow.

We believe a hot balanced meal at lunch time increases girls’ concentration and therefore learning in the afternoon. Junior lunches are included in the fees so there is no option to bring a packed lunch.
